Plans have been announced to open a new Asda supermarket in Salisbury.

They want to develop land off Hampton Park roundabout, which would bring a new £20million store to the area and create up to 250 jobs if approved.

The latest proposals include a 30,000 square foot store, petrol station, drive thru and restaurant.

Land around the store would also be developed to create a green space.

In 2017, Asda had a planning application for the same location approved by Wiltshire Council, after submitting the original plans in 2014.

HAVE YOUR SAY

The company say that last time they were given a lot of community support, and they're asking for the people of Salisbury to get involved once again.

A consultation has been launched on the Asda website for people to have their say.

Meanwhile, they're also holding a public exhibition at the Hampton Park Pavilion on Saturday (20th November) between 2:30pm and 7:30pm.

This will give people a chance to find out more about the plans.

An Asda spokesperson said:

“This proposal will see us invest in Salisbury for the long-term, bringing jobs and new opportunities to the city, as well as fulfilling customer demand for a convenient, competitively priced grocery offer on their doorstep.

“We previously received a high level of support for this development and would like to invite the community to engage with us once again, giving them the chance to ask questions about our plans for the future of this site.”
