Go Sky Dive say no one was seriously hurt after one of their planes suffered a mechanical failure during landing on Old Sarum Airfield.

The incident happened on Saturday (17th July) afternoon with the pilot being the only person inside the plane at the time.

As a matter of standard procedure the emergency services were called and an air ambulance was sent, however it never needed to land.

The pilot was checked over by paramedics but did not require hospital treatment.

A spokesperson for Go Sky Dive said:

"Fortunately, all is well.

As a matter of standard procedure the emergency services were called. The Air ambulance was sent, but they decided it was not necessary to land. The Ambulance service assessed the pilot at the time and they did not require him to go to hospital.

We resumed full operations yesterday.

The cause for the mechanical failure is being investigated."
