One of the peregrine falcon born this year at Salisbury Cathedral was a little bit ambitious with her first flight.

Flo, as she was named last week, left the nest and attended up at Salisbury Museum early yesterday morning (Sunday 6th June).

She then needed some help getting back home so Gary Price, Salisbury Cathedral's Clerk of the Works, and Phil Sheldrake, their Nature Conservation Adviser, were called in to help.

They safely captured the bird and got her back to the nest box at the base of the spire.

Salisbury Museum posted a video of the men at work on their Twitter page:

As the new birds are starting to fledge from the nest box, we are being asked to look up to the skies above the city and see if we can spot them.

They have been given distinctive orange ring around their legs, each with 3 letters on.

These letters help us identify whether it is Flo, Eliza, Teddy or Xander who have taken flight.

You can watch them leave the nest on the Cathedral's live stream cameras.
