Third Peregrine egg hatches at Salisbury Cathedral

There's hope of a fourth chick hatching from the final egg

Three of the four Peregrine Falcon eggs at Salisbury Cathedral have now hatched.

The third arrived early on Thursday morning, after the first two hatched on Wednesday afternoon.

The chicks are thought to be arriving earlier than expected, owing to the approximate incubation period of 30 days.

This years group now matches 2024's batch of three chicks, while a fourth would equal 2023's figure.

It marks the 11th year in a row Peregrines have successfully laid and hatched eggs.
