Peregrine chick number three arrives at Salisbury Cathedral
It's been a busy week in the nesting box!
For the third day in a row, there's another peregrine falcon chick at Salisbury Cathedral.
The latest little one arrived just before 10.00am this morning (Thursday 27th April), following two of its siblings hatching on Tuesday and Wednesday.
A fourth egg in the nesting box at the base of the spire is expected to hatch in the coming days.
A video showing the moment the egg cracked open has been shared with us - it's a bit tough to see the chick, but keep looking under the adult falcon's left wing:
The nest of peregrines is being livestreamed on the Salisbury Cathedral website and is once again proving really popular.
We're told there's thousands of viewers throughout the day, coming from across Europe and as far away as America and Australia.
It's also been announced that once a theme for the names of this year's chicks has been chosen, we'll be able to help pick their eventual names again.
A poll will be held on social media in due course.
The chicks will have identification rings placed on their ankles around mid-May, to help tell them apart and track them once they fledge.
