Pedestrian in his 80s died following Amesbury collision

The victim passed away in hospital after being struck by a car

A man in his 80s has died after being struck by a car in Amesbury.

The pedestrian, who was local, was walking along the A345 south towards Countess Roundabout last night (Sunday 12th February) at around 7.30pm.

He was taken to Southampton General Hospital with multiple injuries but passed away there a few hours later.

Wiltshire Police tell us his next of kin's been informed and their thoughts are with his family and friends.

A Vauxhall Astra was involved in the collision.

There's now an appeal for information and dash cam footage, to work out the full circumstances.
