There have been no fees for two years

From next month staff at Salisbury District Hospital will have to pay for parking again.

Charges were suspended in March 2020 in response to the Covid pandemic under a scheme by the Local Government Association.

The hospital says a change in central funding means 'regretfully' charges need to return from the April 1st.

Fees will be dependent on job role and band with 12 monthly rates set to be introduced by July

CEO Stacey Hunter confirmed the changes to Greatest Hits Radio

"Last week I had to announce that due to changes to central funding we would regretfully be re-introducing staff car parking charges from 1st April. The Executive team have listened to the feedback from colleagues and have agreed to make a change that we hope will mitigate the impact for some of our staff. Therefore, from 1st April all staff working in pay bands 3 and 4 will now be placed in the lowest bracket for monthly parking charges. In July when an automatic number plate recognition system is in place at the hospital, we will be able to have 12 different monthly rates that will reflect all pay points."
