Invited members of the over 80s community have been visiting City Hall Salisbury today for their Covid-19 vaccine.

Eligible people within a 45 minute drive of the venue have been written to giving them a chance to book the first of their jabs.

Military volunteers have been doing their bit today by doing all the consenting and administering the jabs.

Leading Hand Megan Muirhead, from the Queen Alexandra Royal Naval Nursing Service:

“It is something really positive that we have been able to come and support the NHS’s mission to deliver vaccinations to the people here in Salisbury. It also feels good to be working alongside the community volunteers and NHS staff who are working so hard and successfully to achieve the goal, and I feel privileged to be a small part of that.”

The vaccines started at around 8:30am this morning with the queuing system doing it's job and not letting any patients get caught in the rain.
