A new fitness set-up's been installed at the Harvard Heights open space in Harnham.

Salisbury City Council's put in an airwalker, horizontal bars, and a chest press and lat pull machine, at the site off Andrews Way, for anyone to use.

There's also some new horizontal bars in place at Wyndham Park Open Space.

The authority say the kit is a 'fantastic addition to parks, giving residents of Salisbury the opportunity to improve their health and wellbeing for free in an outdoor setting'.

Councillors Ian Tomes, Annie Riddle and Sven Hocking trying out the new equipment

There's already equipment in Salisbury's Churchill Gardens too, and all the equipment has instructions next to them about how to use them properly.

Councillor Annie Riddle said:

“Thank you to everyone involved for giving our community access to more free fitness equipment that can used irrespective of experience and ability. The combination of cardio and strength based exercises is perfect for all fitness goals.”
