An otter has caused a bit of a stir at Salisbury Cathedral after being captured on camera taking in the sights.

Lay Vicar Steve Abbot spotted the creature when he was walking into the Cathedral for Evensong yesterday evening and recorded the footage on his mobile phone.

Steve told Greatest Hits Radio Salisbury he was "very surprised' to see it and says he '"just happened to be in the right place at the right time."

The otter did a circuit of the cloisters before attempting to enter the main building but was discouraged by someone coming out the door.
