COVID-19: One death at Salisbury District Hospital

Salisbury District Hospital have confirmed that one patient has passed away there, having tested positive for Covid-19.

Following a routine data evaluation, the total number of patients who have now passed away at Salisbury District Hospital decreased by one.

This means the total number of fatalities is at 213 since the pandemic began, including this latest death.

A spokesperson for Salisbury District Hospital said:

"Sadly, we can confirm that a further patient who had tested positive for COVID-19 and had been cared for at Salisbury District Hospital has died. As of today 213* patients in total have now passed away.

The patient who died on Friday 7th May was in her 80s and had underlying health conditions. Our thoughts and condolences are with the patient’s family and loved ones at this very difficult and distressing time."

The Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust has also confirmed that today (Monday 10th May) they currently have two positive in-patients.

LATEST CASES

In the seven days to 4th May, there have been 68 positive cases in Wiltshire.

That's a decrease of 24 on the previous week.

This means the county's rolling rate per 100,000 population is at 13.6.

The national average is 21.4.
