A sports therapist from Old Sarum is waiting for official confirmation that he's broken a world record for running blindfolded.
Alex Bance ran 117 km in 24 hours last weekend (Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th October) in support of Julia's House children's hospice.
The distance covered around the track at Salisbury's South Wilts Grammar School is further than the previous record of 80 km, but needs to thumbs up from Guinness to be an official world record.
Alex previously told Greatest Hits Radio that achieving a world record would be 'amazing', but it's more about setting an example to his two sons that you can achieve anything if you set your mind to it.
He's documented the run through a series of reels on his Facebook page. |newtab)
The challenge has also raised more than £2,700 for Julia's House - well over his £1,500 target.
Alex took inspiration from the hospice and the work they do with children who have life-limiting conditions.
He says the deaf and blind children being cared for left a lasting impression on him, leading to the idea for the run.
"As soon as I finished my (trial) run, I rang up Julia's House and told them about the idea. That committed me to it before I had time to think!"
