Old Sarum café destroyed by fire looking to reopen TOMORROW
Hangar 3 was affected by the blaze in the Grade 2* listed building behind it
A café in Old Sarum, completely destroyed in a fire at the Airfield last week, is looking to reopen 'on a reduced scale' as soon as tomorrow (Friday 25th April).
Hangar 3 was busy when the blaze began last Thursday evening (17th April), as the popular Bike Night was running.
The blaze in the Grade 2* listed World War One hangar behind the café spread to their premises very quickly.
The business say they've been 'absolutely overwhelmed' by the local support they've had since the incident.
In a social media post, Hangar 3 have given an update about the business:
"We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to get back on our feet, and—fingers crossed—we’re hoping to be back in action (albeit on a very reduced scale) this Friday!!
"We’ve managed to source a temporary kitchen, but we’re now on the lookout for a few essentials: chopping boards, kitchen knives, and commercial-grade utensils.
"We’re also on the lookout to rent or borrow a 3-phase petrol generator for about a week and a bit to help us with our temporary setup.
"If you or someone you know might be able to donate or help us find any of these bits, we’d be so, so grateful.
"We’ll keep you updated as the week goes on, but for now—thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You’ve truly lifted us during such a tough time."
The post has prompted comments from many people offering help, including Salisbury Foodbank and local people with kitchen equipment ready to donate.
