The Wiltshire police Force can now boast over 1,100 officers in it’s ranks.

38 new officers have completed the first part of their training with the Professional Education Qualifications Framework (PEQF) programme.

IPL12 are the latest group to complete the training described as “rigorous” and are now prepared for the next phase, which is tutorship.

Inspector Louis McCoy said each officer has been on their own journey: “Twenty-three weeks of law, practical training, assignments and exams is not an easy task and each student officer should be proud of their journey and commitment shown.”

Through the PEQF programme, this cohort has pursued either a three-year degree apprenticeship or the two-year degree holder entry programme, working with the University of South Wales.

The university partnership allows the officers to receive a comprehensive education that is aligned with the demands and challenges modern policing poses.
