At the second time of asking this year, a new Police and Crime Commissioner has been elected for Wiltshire and Swindon.

Conservative candidate Philip Wilkinson received a total of 37,752 votes from the general public in the election re-run.

No one took up the post following May's votes after the eventual winner, Conservative candidate Jonathan Seed, was unable to due to old driving convictions.

It had to go to the second round of voting between Mr Wilkinson and Independent Mike Rees as no one achieved more than 50% of the vote in the first round.

There was a 16.63% turnout, with 91,553 votes cast.
