New play unit design chosen for Salisbury park after public vote
There were two options for people to vote between.
A new boat themed play unit will be installed in Churchill Gardens, Salisbury, in December.
At the start of October, the public were encouraged to vote for their favourite of two designs on Salisbury City Council's Facebook page.
After over 100 comments, the council have announced the winner of the poll.
The new unit, which was designed by Proludic Ltd, will replace the well-used play park that's already there.
Aimed at children three and over, it will be adventure boat themed and include a climbing net, slide and imaginative play among other things.
Leader of the Council, Cllr Liz Sirman, said:
"Good outdoor play areas are more important than ever for the children of Salisbury and I am delighted to see this equipment, chosen by the community, being put into place."
Installation is planned to start on the week beginning December 14th and will be ready to play on during the Christmas holidays.
