After people in Wiltshire took to the polls yesterday (Thursday 19th August), we will find out today who has been elected as the county's new** Police and Crime Commissioner.

In May's election, the eventual winner was unable to fulfil the role.

The then Conservative candidate Jonathan Seed withdrew a day before the count, after all the votes had been cast.

That has led to a re-run that took place yesterday.

There are five candidates who are hoping to become the new Police and Crime Commissioner for Wiltshire and Swindon.

There's no estimate on when to expect a result yet, but we will find out today at some point.

They are:

  • Junab Ali – Labour & Co-operative
  • Julian Malins – Reform UK
  • Brian Mathew – Lib Dem
  • Mike Rees – Independent
  • Philip Wilkinson – Conservative
