The 'Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar and Grill' has opened today (Thursday 17th September) for the first time in Highpost, near Salisbury.

We're being told to expect "affordable glamour" in the new restaurant, with the menus being devised by one the country's most famous cooks.

The kitchen will be headed up by chef Phil Bayliss, who worked for Marco Pierre White at the Rudloe Arms in Corsham.

Ahead of the opening, hotel general manager, Michael Barnes said:

"It's great news to at last have a date for when we will open our doors to the public. There's been a lot of interest and as the opening date approaches, the excitement will just grow and grow.

The team is going through a rigorous training programme so that when we open, they will be up to speed on the exacting standards required by someone of Marco's calibre.

The opening of the restaurant is also great testament to the owners who, during the current pandemic, have had the courage and tenacity to crack on and get this fantastic new venue up and running, bringing with it new jobs for local people."

They're accepting online bookings for the new restaurant, with some measures set to be in place to help keep staff and customers safe.

The restaurant is based at The Stones Hotel near Salisbury
