A new manager's been appointed for Salisbury FC's Women's side.

Dave Sawyer has taken on the role, to rebuild the team ready for the next league campaign.

SFC Women aren't competing this season, after various issues.

Sawyer has more than 20 years of management experience, and is working towards his formal coaching qualifications.

That follows years of playing for local teams, having lived in Salisbury all his life.

Speaking to Salisbury FC's website, Dave said:

“My aim is to revive and develop the Salisbury FC Women’s team and be competitive in the Wiltshire league.

"With women’s football riding high with the England national team and the WSL, I feel extremely excited and with the group of ladies already here and with more to come on board too, I’m confident we can make a real impact here at the Ray Mac."
