Salisbury's MP has been given a new role in Government following a reshuffle by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

John Glen's been named as the Paymaster General.

His previous role as Chief Economic Secretary to the Treasury was given to Laura Trott MP earlier this afternoon (Monday 13th November).

Salisbury's MP has already changed his social media bio to include the new role.

The reshuffle follows the sacking of Home Secretary Suella Braverman this morning, over her newspaper article on police bias, which didn't get clearance from Number 10.

What is the Paymaster General?

It's a ministerial role as part of the Cabinet Office, with the responsibility for making the Government's payments.

John Glen, who's been Salisbury's MP since 2010, replaces Jeremy Quin in the role.
