With rising numbers of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles on the roads, the New Forest District Council (NFDC) has responded by installing 41 electric vehicle (EV) charging points.

Councillor Geoffrey Blunden, portfolio holder for environment and sustainability, said it showed the NFDC are working towards the 2030 goal of being carbon neutral.

“This initiative will reduce carbon footprint in the New Forest, improve air quality and offer an amenity for those to charge their vehicle at convenient locations,” he said.

Cllr Blunden added: “Climate change presents a challenge for us and our residents, through prompt action we can create opportunities and make a difference.”

The charge points can be found in NFDC car parks across the district including Fordingbridge, Lyndhurst and Ringwood.
