New Forest businesses can apply for council grants

Funding of as much as £40,000 is on offer

Eligible businesses in the New Forest can now apply for a new grant from the New Forest District Council (NFDC).

Support from the ‘Rural England Prosperity Fund’ is designed to help businesses grow.

Grants of between £5,000 and £40,000 can be provided by the council to businesses that qualify, covering up to 50% of project costs.

The funding can be used for investment into equipment, machinery or buildings, as well as improvements to energy efficiency.

Businesses much be based in the New Forest Rural Fund area to qualify for a grant, as well as be able to demonstrate the grant funded investment will benefit the wider area through business growth or creating new jobs.

Councillor Derek Tipp, Portfolio Holder for Economy and Planning, said: “The Rural Fund will provide grants that could provide a significant step-up for the district’s rural businesses, enabling them to successfully compete and build their capacity for the future.”
