The pub in Netheravon has been closed temporarily after a member of staff tested positive for Coronavirus.

The Dog & Gun Inn revealed news of the infection on Facebook yesterday (Friday 16 Oct 2020).

In the best interest of their customers and staff they've decided to close with immediate effect and enter a 14 day 'circuit breaker' isolation period.

NHS TRACK AND TRACE

The pub is now contacting customers who may have come into contact with the affected member of staff in accordance with NHS advice.

Customers may get an automatic alert through 'NHS Track and Trace'.

PUB ACCOMMODATION UNAFFECTED

James and Patti who run the pub wrote on social media:

"We are sorry to have to announce that the directors have taken the decision to close the D&G for 14 days, save for accommodation, from today with immediate effect."

"This is for precautionary health and safety reasons due to a member of staff having tested positive for COVID overnight. Whilst other staff who were working in close proximity have tested negative we think it is in our staff and our customers’ best interests for all staff to enter a 14 day isolation period – also termed as a “circuit breaker”. We have worked hard to ensure the safety of our working environment and this decision is consistent with our commitment to put the health of our staff and customers first."

"Customers will be aware from feedback and reviews in recent months that we take all reasonable precautions to limit the potential for transmission of the virus so we are hopeful that these will have been effective."

They've wished the member of staff affected a speedy recovery and hope to resume a full service after taking this action.
