Motorcyclist dies after crash in Salisbury

Emergency services were called to Churchill Way East on Saturday

A motorcyclist has died after his bike struck the central reservation on the A36 at Churchill Way East on Saturday afternoon.

Police believe the victim who was in his 20s lost control before colliding with the central reservation around 2.20pm.

The rider, who is from Salisbury, was flown by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital but tragically died later that day.

The road was closed in both diretions for around nine hours while investigators attended the scene.

The crash happened on the A36, Churchill Way East

Wiltshire Police say the victim's family are being supported by a specially trained family liaison officer and their "thoughts are with his family at this difficulty time."

Anyone who witnessed the collision, including anyone who may have dash cam footage, should call 101 and quote log number 207 of November 20th.
