A motorcyclist has sadly died following a collision in Dinton last night (22nd December.)

The incident happened at approximately 7pm on Hindon Road near to the Wyndham Pub.

A Volkswagen Touran collided with a motorcyclist. The rider, a man in his 40s from Amesbury, sadly died at the scene.

His family has been informed and are being supported by a specialist trained family liaison officer.

The driver of the Volkswagen – a man in his 40s from Mere – was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He is currently in Melksham custody.

The fatal crash happened on the B3089 Hindon Road

A Spokesperson from Wiltshire Police said:

"We would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or anyone who saw either vehicle prior to the collision taking place. We are also really keen to speak to anyone who may have dash cam footage from the Hindon Road area between 6.45pm and 7.20pm last night – you may have footage which could be significant to our investigation."
