Covid-19: Four more deaths at Salisbury District Hospital

The number of patients with the virus has also increased significantly

There's been another sad update from Salisbury District Hospital.

In a statement the NHS Foundation Trust said;

"Sadly, we can confirm that another four patients who had been cared for at Salisbury District Hospital have died."

"Two patients, a woman in her nineties and a man in his eighties died on 13th January. "

"Two patients, a man in his seventies and a man in his nineties, died on 15th January. "

"All had underlying health conditions. "

Our thoughts and condolences are with the patients' families and loved ones at this very difficult and distressing time."

The total number of patients that have died at Salisbury District Hospital after receiving a Covid-19 positive test result is now 107.

RISE IN PATIENTS:

Meanwhile as of 815 am today ( 15th Jan) the hospital has 163 patients who have tested positive for the virus.

That's an increase of 28 in the last 24 hours.

WILTSHIRE CASES

Latest stats for the Wiltshire Council area show 1,886 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the seven days to the 9th of January.

Cases remain particularly high in the 20-29 age group.

The overall rate per 100,000 for all age categories is 377.2 whilst the England average is 622.3.
