More speeding drivers caught on Roger Penny Way
Police target notorious road days after another pony was killed

Hampshire Police have been stopping even more drivers for breaking the 40mph speed limit on one of the New Forest's most deadly roads.
Officers were out with their speed guns and Speed Camera Van on the B3078 Roger Penny Way on Wednesday (15 Dec).
They stopped 12 motorists who were going too fast, 4 were travelling over 50mph and they all received tickets. The fastest driver caught by Police was doing 60 mph.
The camera van also caught 15 speeding motorists in Bramshaw.
This was the fourth time New Forest Police have run what's dubbed, 'Operation Mountie', a multi agency approach to reducing speed on Roger Penny Way.
Another pony died after being hit by a car only a few days ago (Friday 10 Dec) but it appears some drivers continue to flout rules about keeping to the speed limit, and ignore repeated warnings of animals on the road say and night.
The Roads Safety Team joined the New Forest Police Officers as part of Op Holly, the annual drink drive campaign. Everyone stopped was breathalysed and all results were negative.
Police have expressed their thanks to the support they get from Forestry England, the New Forest Roads Awareness Team, the Agisters, New Forest Commoners and the Verderers and to those drivers who stuck to the speed limit.
