COVID-19 death toll rises at Salisbury District Hospital

Sadness as more patients die amid significant increase in positive test for the virus

They say it's due to a number of operational issues

Salisbury District Hospital has confirmed today (Tues 29 Dec 2020) that a further 4 patients, who had been cared for at SDH over the Christmas period, have died.

73 patients in total have now passed away after testing positive for Covid-19.

All patients had underlying health conditions and their ages ranged from in their 70s to in their 90s.

In a statement, the hospital has said:

"Our thoughts and condolences are with all the families and loved ones at this very difficult and distressing time."

The sad news comes as visiting is suspended at Salisbury District Hospital due to a rapid increase in positive cases of coronavirus.
