Covid-19: Death toll rises again at Salisbury District Hospital

Another three patients who tested positive for coronavirus have passed away

In a statement issued this afternoon (3rd January) Salisbury District Hospital have confirmed two men in their 60s and 70s and a woman in her 80s have died.

Two of the patients had underlying conditions.

Hospital bosses have again expressed their sympathy to the relatives of loved ones.

"Our thoughts and condolences are with all the families and loved ones at this very difficult and distressing time."

A total of 84 patients that had tested positive for COVID-19 have now passed away at the hospital since the start of the pandemic.

RISE IN CURRENT COVID PATIENTS

Meanwhile there's been another significant rise in the number of coronavirus patients with 66 being currently treated at our hospital. That's an increase of eight in 24 hours.

All visiting remains suspended except for certain circumstances.

Meanwhile only people with a genuine emergency are being asked to attend A&E- the advice remains to call NHS 111 or use the Walk-in Centre.
