Money has been stolen from two cars in Salisbury leading to Police issuing crime prevention advice

Both crimes happened overnight between 5th and 6th January.

One vehicle was parked in Waters Road and the other vehicle was parked in St Clements Way.

In both incidents the window of the vehicle was smashed to allow the offender to steal money from inside.

Police say enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information should contact PCSO Geanina Tablet from the Salisbury Area Community Policing Team on 101.

Simple steps to help pervent you becoming a victim of crime:

  • Always remember to lock your vehicle, even if you are only leaving it for a short amount of time.
  • Don’t leave valuable items, including bags, purses and money, inside your car as they can prove an easy target for an opportunistic thief.
  • If possible, try to park in well-lit, busier areas.
  • Leaving sat nav mounts, suction cup marks on windows or cables on view gives it away that you have left a Sat Nav, smartphone or other device in your car. Even if they can’t see the Sat Nav or iPad they might still break in to see if it’s stored in the car, out of sight.
