Mere man raises thousands for Stars Appeal through doorstep junk shop
Rodney Snook has been fundraising since the start of the pandemic
Rodney Snook from Mere has been clearing out his old items, and taking some in from the local community, and selling them on in aid of the Stars Appeal.
He set up a gazebo in his front garden to act as his shop - raising £10,113 since the pandemic began.
That's more than double his initial target of £5,000.
The money raised has now been handed over to the Stars Appeal - to fund things at Salisbury District Hospital over and above what the NHS can provide.
Rodney Snook said:
“We’re just trying to give a little bit back, for all the help the hospital has given us. Everyone on our road has had help from the hospital - we’re very lucky to have them."
