The mass vaccination centre at Salisbury City Hall has reopened today (Monday 12th April).

It's been shut for the last 11 days due to a shortage of vaccines this month.

They are now reopening at full capacity too, with up to 1,000 people able to get jabbed every day.

The government announced last month that a series of delays could affect vaccines in the UK in April.

When the closure happened, Gill May, Director of Nursing and Quality, said:

"We always knew that the vaccination rollout would require us to be flexible, and this is just one way in which we are adapting our current way of working.

We have made already made excellent progress in providing the vaccine to half our adult population, and are confident that this temporary pause will not slow us down in meeting the government’s target of offering the vaccine to all over 18s by the end of July."

In March, staff and volunteers at City Hall celebrated after hitting their 20,000th jab milestone.

They hit the 20,000 milestone on the 15th March
