A man who picked up a woman in Salisbury by pretending to be a taxi driver has been charged with kidnap and sexual assault.

A woman reported to police in the early hours of September 11th that she had got into a man's car believing it was a taxi she had booked before he started behaving inappropriately and making sexual remarks while touching her leg.

She then got out the vehicle and asked for a family member to come pick her up.

Last week, the force put out an appeal for information in hopes of tracking down the man.

They have now charged a 38 year old with sexual assault and kidnap.

Iancu Romica Coman, from Fisherton Street, has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before court later today (8th October).
