Man left unconscious after assault in Salisbury

A man was left unconscious and needed hospital treatment after being assaulted in Salisbury.

Police say it happened a week ago in the early hours of Saturday morning on New Canal Street.

A man arrested on suspicion of assault has been release under investigation.

Police are keen to hear from any witnesses.

"We're looking for witnesses following an assault in Salisbury in the early hours of Saturday morning (19/06) which left a man needing hospital treatment.

"It happened outside Chick-o-land at around 12.45am. When our officers arrived, the victim was unconscious and a 34 year old man was trying to stop door staff from giving him first aid. He's been arrested on suspicion of assault and released pending further enquiries.
