Man seriously assaulted in Harnham

Police are now hoping someone may have witnessed the incident take place

At some point between midnight on Sunday (17th January) and 1am on Monday (18th January) a man was seriously assaulted in Harnham.

A group of men are believed to have exited a vehicle near to the junction of Harnham Road and New Harnham Road and attacked a lone male.

It's believed a bladed article was used as the victim suffered minor injuries.

He did require hospital treatment though.

The incident happened near to the junction of Harnham and New Harnham Road

Police are now hoping someone may have witnessed the attack take place and can help with their investigations.

Det Sgt Martin Faulkner said:

"We'd like to reassure the public that we believe this was an isolated incident and not a random attack but one we are treating incredibly seriously.

It is fortunate that the injuries are not serious, but the victim did require hospital treatment.

We are looking for anyone who may have witnessed this incident, have dash cam footage from the area around the same time or have any information that may assist officers with their investigation."
