Man jailed for Homington burglary
33 year old Sonnie Kerley has been handed a three year sentence
A South Wiltshire man's been jailed for three years, after pleading guilty to a burglary in Homington.
33 year old Sonnie Kerley, of Bishop Row, Longhedge, has also been ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £228.
He was seen by neighbours breaking into a house on the afternoon of May 17th.
A member of the public also gave a detailed description to police, who traced him shortly afterwards.
Stolen property, including cash and a sentimental gold chain were found and returned to the victim.
Local Crime Investigator Beverley Sargent said:
“Kerley was spotted by a member of the public at the property, enabling officers to locate him quickly and ensure we were able to recover the stolen items and return them to the victim.
“I’d like to thank the community for their assistance throughout this investigation.
“Burglaries are a Force priority as we understand that they can have a lasting and traumatic impact on victims.
“The thought of someone in your home, looking through your personal belongings can leave you feeling vulnerable and violated.
