A man's been jailed for more than two years for a burglary in Fordingbridge.

28 year old Sean Jonathan Cooper from Narrowleaf Drive in Ringwood admitted the offence at a previous hearing at Southampton Crown Court.

He's now been handed a 29 month prison sentence.

A further four burglaries committed by Cooper were also taken into consideration.

What happened?

Cooper broke a downstairs bathroom window to get into a property on Bowerwood Road in Fordingbridge on 6th November 2022.

A blood spot was found in the bathroom, along with two fingerprints on the broken glass.

They were traced back to Cooper and was arrested on November 28th.

He's been on remand since his first court appearance two days later.

Police Staff Investigator Stephen Hortin of Hampshire Constabulary’s dedicated burglary unit, Operation Hawk, lead the investigation. He said:

“We take burglaries very seriously, and we will use all the tools at our disposal, including forensics, to bring offenders to justice.

“I hope this result offers closure to both victims, and serves as a warning to others who think about committing such crimes.”
