Man in 70s dies after Salisbury City Centre accident on Exeter Street

A man in his 70s has died after an accident in Salisbury City Centre this morning (22/11).

It happened around 6am on Exeter Street and involved a pedestrian, close to his van, and a car. Everyone involved remained at the scene and Police say no arrests have been made.

The man's next of kin have been informed.

Wiltshire Police' SCIT (Serious Collision Investigation Team) is investigating what happened and an appeal is being made for witnesses to the accident or anyone who has recorded dash cam footage.

Exeter Street was closed between St Ann Street and the Churchill Way roundabout following the incident and that remains in place.

Drivers are urged to find alternative routes with the road not expected to reopen for several hours.
