Man dies following road traffic collision near Salisbury

The crash happened on the A30 near Pitton on Thursday

A man has died following a road traffic collision near Salisbury.

At approximately 11.30am on September 15, a BMW and a Mercedes travelling in opposite directions were involved in a collision near to the junction with Whiteway.

The driver of the BMW, a 40-year-old man from London, died as a result of the injuries he sustained.

Wiltshire Police say their "thoughts are with his family and friends".

Both vehicles sustained significant damage.

Any witnesses who have yet to come forward, are being urged to do so now.

The driver of the Mercedes was also not injured.

Officers say they believe a number of drivers may have witnessed the collision who have not yet spoken to police.

They would like to speak to anyone who has any dash cam footage which could help.

Any witnesses to the collision are asked to call 101 and quote log number 113 of September 15.
