Man dies following A30 collison near Tisbury

A 20 year old has passed away in hospital.

The collision happened on the A30 at Sutton Mandeville at around 5.20pm yesterday evening (Monday 16th November), involving a red Honda Jazz and a blue Range Rover Sport.

The driver of the Honda, a 20 year old man from the Bristol area, was taken to Southampton General Hospital but died overnight.

His family's been informed.

Three passengers from the car were left injured:

  • A 19 year old woman from the Salisbury area remains at Southampton General Hospital with serious injuries
  • A 20 year old man from the London area also has serious injuries and is being treated in Southampton
  • A 20 year old man from the London area was taken to Salisbury District Hospital with less serious injuries

The driver of the Range Rover, a 54 year old man from Salisbury, also suffered less serious injuries and was taken to SDH.

PC Charlotte Sartin, from Wiltshire Police's Collision Investigation Unit, has appealed for any witnesses to come forward:

"We are now carrying out a thorough and detailed investigation into the cause of this collision, and, although we spoke to a number of witnesses at the scene yesterday, we are appealing for anyone else with information to call us.

"We need to speak to anyone who witnessed the actual collision or who saw either car beforehand. We're particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have dash cam footage or private CCTV footage which may assist our enquiries."

The A30 itself reopened at around 3.00am this morning, around 10 hours after the collision, to allow for investigation work.
