Man charged with knifepoint robbery in Amesbury

He is due to appear in Magistrates Court.

A man has been charged following a knifepoint robbery at a store in Amesbury on Saturday morning.

25 year old Alfie Hough, of no fixed abode, has been charged with one count of robbery and two counts of possession of a bladed article in a public place.

He is due to appear at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court later today.

DC Martyn Powell of South CID said: “This was a terrifying incident for the staff where they were threatened with a knife.
