Man charged with Salisbury sex attack

It follows an investigation by officers lasting nearly two years

A 28-year-old man has been charged with sexual assault by penetration following an investigation by officers into a attack that took place in Hudson's Field, on Castle Road in Salisbury on May 19 2019.

Nicholas John Wells, from Eyres Way in Salisbury, appeared at Swindon Magistrates' court yesterday (27 March 2021).

He entered no plea, and will go before Salisbury Crown Court on 30 April.

Since the incident happened, police have made several appeals to catch the offender.

Independent charity Crimestoppers had even offered a £5,000 reward in connection with the Salisbury sex attack.

The attack on a woman in her 30s happened just after midnight on Sunday 19th May 2019.
