Man charged with Old Sarum Primary School burglary

An Old Sarum man's appeared in court today (Monday 29th October) charged with burglary at the area's primary school.

27 year old Troy Russell of Sherbourne Drive, was arrested yesterday (Sunday 28th October).

Laptops and tablets had been stolen from the school on Pheasant Drive.

A search of a premises also uncovered £3,500 worth of stolen items, which were seized by police.

Russell has been charged with burglary, as well as two counts of theft.

He's been remanded in custody to appear before Salisbury Crown Court on December 1st.

Salisbury Police Inspector Tina Osborn said:

"This arrest was made as a result of some great proactive policing by officers who were on patrol in the local area at the time. We do not underestimate the impact incidents of this nature can have on a local community and will always take reports seriously."
