Man charged after serious assault in Salisbury

A man from Winterbourne Gunner has been charged following the serious assault that took place in Salisbury on Sunday morning (20th February).

Connor Pool, 24, of Salt Lane, has been charged with Section 18 grievous bodily harm.

He has been remanded in custody to appear before Swindon Magistrates’ Court today.

Three men were arrested in connection with the incident, which has left the victim in a critical condition.

The incident happened at around 3am on New Canal.

It is understood a fight broke out involving around 15 men with the victim suffering a serious head injury and was taken to hospital.

Police say they are now not looking for any other suspects in connection with this assault.

Extra patrols are being conducted this week and into the weekend to provide reassurance to the local community.
