Man charged after Poultry Cross crash in Salisbury

He'll appear in court next month

A man has been charged with a number of offences after colliding with the Poultry Cross in Salisbury.

Brandon Gamblin of Church Street, Southampton, has been charged with dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, failing to stop for police and criminal damage

The 20 year old was arrested in the early hours of Saturday morning (21st May) after a short pursuit by police.

Gamblin has now been released on unconditional bail to appear at Salisbury Magistrates Court next month.

The building was damaged, alongside the Audi he was driving.

A statement from Salisbury City Council said:

"Salisbury City Council owns the Poultry Cross. Following the incident on Saturday 21 May 2022 in which the monument was damaged, the City Council will oversee the safe repair of the monument with a Structural Engineer assessing the monument within the next few days. The Council are assisting the police with their enquires."
