The victim was initially attacked in Bridge Street shortly after 10.00pm on Tuesday 10th November.

He'd been shopping at Tesco Metro when he noticed two men - one of whom had a dog - sitting opposite the King's Head pub.

The dog approached the victim and one of the men accused him of kicking the dog.

The man became verbally and physically aggressive, pushing him and punching him in the face.

The victim got onto the PR3 bus from the Fisherton clock tower stop, and the attacker and his dog followed him onto the vehicle.

We're told there was another scuffle, with the victim bitten twice by the dog - on the back of the knee and the top of his leg.

The bus driver helped him to safety and he needed treatment for his wounds at Salisbury District Hospital.
