A man who assaulted a woman and multiple police officers has been jailed for more than two years.

35 year old Daniel O’Sullivan, of Greenacres Mobile Park, Littleton, Semington, fled the scene, jumping a fence into the woods bordering the A350 while carrying knives in June.

He assaulted a police officer by kicking him, and attempted to headbutt a second officer.

He was subsequently charged with assault by beating, threatening a person with a bladed article in a private place and four counts of assaulting an emergency worker.

Local Crime Investigator Michael Griffiths said: “O’Sullivan’s actions were abhorrent and I’m pleased he now faces a custodial sentence.

“No officers should have to face the violence that O’Sullivan subjected them to while simply going about their daily duties.

“Any assault on our workforce is a criminal offence and we will always look to put those responsible before the courts.”
