Man arrested on suspicion of murder after Amesbury man's disappearance

A man's been arrested on suspicion of murder, in connection with the disappearance of an Amesbury man.

A 36 year old man from Aldershot is in the custody of Hampshire Police.

Kiran Pun, who's also 36, went missing from Amesbury on December 1st, and was last seen on CCTV getting off a bus at Aldershot railway station at around 7.30pm that night.

Detective Inspector Howard Broadribb from Hampshire Police said:

“We know this arrest will come as a shock to the community. This action has been taken on the basis of all the information available to police at this time, and is necessary to assist us in progressing our enquiries to establish what has happened to Kiran.

“Kiran has not been seen for some time now, and we still need to hear from anyone in the community who might have seen him since his disappearance, or has any information that will assist our investigation.”

There's still an appeal to trace Kiran, who links to a few towns in north Hampshire.

He is described as:

  • Around 5 feet 8 inches tall
  • Black short hair
  • Brown eyes
  • Slim face
  • Scar on his chin
