Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after car driven at pedestrians in Salisbury

Wiltshire Police have arrested a 25 year old man on suspicion of attempted murder, after two pedestrians were hit by a car in Salisbury last night (Sunday 27th March).

A man and a woman, described as being 'young adults' were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, after being struck by the vehicle.

It mounted the pavement in Fisherton Street before driving away from the scene.

A male suspect was arrested after a search and is currently in police custody.

Detective Inspector Dean Garvin said:

“This is a deeply concerning incident in which a vehicle appears to have been deliberately driven at pedestrians. Two people were injured and taken to hospital. Their injuries could have easily have been much, much worse.

“We are asking members of the public to contact us if you were in the area of Fisherton Street, Salisbury at about 9.45pm yesterday (27/03) and witnessed what took place.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage of a Blue Skoda driving around Salisbury City Centre late last night.”
