Police have made an arrest after a man was allegedly seen with machete near a primary school in Salisbury.

Officers responded after two men were reportedly seen arguing in Pheasant Drive at around midday.

The location is close to Old Sarum Primary School.

The school decided to keep children in over their lunchbreak as a precaution.

A spokesperson for Salisbury Police said:

"While these enquiries have been carried out, officers liaised with staff at Old Sarum Primary School due to the proximity of the incident to the school grounds."
